B. boehmei sexing

B. boehmei. A little small, but could anyone make a guess at the sex?
I lied! I was immature and tried to make it more impressive. I bought it from Petco in Austin, TX. I have the receipt. Would you like to see it? Would that make it better? I am sorry I caused such a disgrace. It will it will not happen again. I was just trying to sound like an expert when I am not.
Experts in this hobby strive breed T's in captivity so that we don't have to continue to exploit wild populations. Just keep that in mind and you'll be good. 😉

As we figured. Remember this forum has a lot of older keepers who have been, and/or work in the hobby. You will not get away with much, so it is best to be as honest as one can be. See I am old enough to remember WC AF Brachypelma selling for $35 (which is why they are now under CITES). You are good, I think you have learned your lesson. So just so you know, Brachypelma are mostly in Soth and SW of Mexico (emilia come a bit father north) Oaxaca, Guerrero, Colima and Jalisco w emilia up in to Sinaloa. So you'd have to don both some serious travel and some smuggling to have a WC.

You should do some reading on what is happening to their natural habitat, how many years it takes to reach sexual maturity, how long they *could* live.

Then consider your actions when taking wild Aphonopelma from holes in New Mexico AND Texas as you say, who take even longer to reach sexual maturity, and who live even longer. It will be people like you who decimate the population, don't even know what you are pulling out of the ground, how could possibly be doing it in a sustainable manner.

I hope these words matter to you someday. I have been to many places cited by Hamilton in the Aphonopelma revision. It's 115°F out. No bodies of water, not even a puddle, for several miles and several months. Keeping in mind the dates collected, there is no evidence of tarantulas there anymore. I found one burrow for sure. One. One of the places described is a parking lot now. There were even species where THEY couldn't find both a male and female. It doesn't bode well for the health of the population if scientists can't even find a reproductive partner. How many reproductive partners have you stolen? Those females you are holding could be 20-30 years old. It makes me sick. And really sad. I hope you stop.

agreed, and habitat destruction IMO is the #1 and WC just piles on top of that
