This one looks male, too. A word of advise, if someone is selling larger specimens like these as "unsexed", it very often means they are male - as you can see at this size it's relatively easy to sex them ventrally, and female will be identified and priced accordingly.

Don't be too sad, though - Brachypelma males can often outlive females of many other species, so you'll have them for a good long while.

Okay, actually I‘m sad but not that much but I won’t buy again an unsexed T of this size. Can I ask you how to ventral sex? I saw some photos so I was pretty sure they were males, but I really don’t know what i shoul see. Btw at least their names can be both female or male Ahahahahah

So, there are a couple things you're looking for when ventral sexing. Most notably, males will have a patch of specialized setae just forward of the epigastric furrow (the slit that goes across between the forward pair of book lungs), which you can see pretty clearly in this example - they are shorter and darker, and are shaped kind of like an upside down "U":


That patch will be absent in females and the furrow will be more of a curved line with the top "lip" bulging out. Females often have book lungs that are spaced a bit further apart when compared to a male of the same species.

You can practice by looking through the pics posted in this forum and guessing male or female, then check if your response matches what others have posted.
