I found this tarantula in the Arizona forest back in 2014. My dad shared this picture with me today since I got into Ts since then and I’m also camping there again.

More than likely, yes. They're on a mission and the ones that wander will die soon as it is. Mating is the name of the game, and females can be a challenge for them to find, so wandering it is. I'd expect them to be more active in warmer times of day.
