How long does an H. Mac take to mature to full grown size? I've heard they are glacially slow growers but how long is long?

Here is a pic I got earlier of my 4 inch H.maculata.
Can't believe I actually got the chance to take her picture ;)
One of the nicest looking T's IMO.

everytime i see these T's it makes me want to order a female, but if im patient hopefully something good will happen with my male in the future :}

Had great fun re-housing this one... (see my post in the announcements thread *damn shipping*).

Pretty sure its a little boy though but he is very beautiful and *touch wood* hasn't shown any hint of agression yet.

Does this species have particular colour differences at this stage then or are you all using the picture of its underside. :?

It actually looks male to me. Sure does have the coloration of one, but that would be silly of me to base it on.

Ditto. My first thought was male when I saw it. How early does H. maculata show sexual dimorphism?

Here's a link to a picture of a mature male and female. IMO, the mature females are one of the most attractive tarantulas.

whats the size of this T? when I said female I was basing it on the underside.

I based my guess on the underside pic. It does look like flap area to me is greatly enlarged for such a small T.
