The goal of this project is to make a website, with a username and password where you can login and upload date such as molts/feedings for each of the inverts you keep. You will then be able to compare this to all the other users on the site!
I was inspired by some of the other programs floating around, but I felt that these were to static. What is the point if you cant compare them to other keepers info?
When this site is done you will be able to login, update you T/scorp info, and if you want compare it to other keepers data. there will also be a "master" database for each species giving the averages of each data field. It will be completely interactive, with eventually the option to upload pictures of you specimens.
This is going take some time to make work and it's going to take up a lot of my free time and a lot of my bandwidth.
donations are highly appreciated, but if I don't get any that is cool. I'd like to have something like $5 per user for lifetime use. It will only continue to grow! By the end of it we can have feeding/molt times for 100's of species, a true benefit to the hobby.
Before I get started, I want to know if anyone is interested in this. You more than likely WONT be able to import data from other programs but will have to enter it for each of your spiders. But trust me, it will be worth it. We will be able to come up with average growth rates as well as monitoring the effects of temperature and humidity on T's growth rate.
I just want to see if anyone would be interested in a site like this. Once you create your user name you will have access to view everyone else's data, and like I said each species will eventually have and "average" graph giving users and idea of what to expect from each species.
This is an interest check! the more responses I get here the harder I will work on the site. It will have it's own address and be active for at east 3-5 years, building not only a database for one person but for EVERYONE. So you can compare your growth rates and feeding patterns to other hobbyist.
Let me know if you all would be interested in such a site and if so I will get started on it tomorrow!
Thanks - Ryan T.
