Decided to ask the LPS how much he'd want for a Phormingochilus sp rufus that he's had out for several months. I've seen it out once, and that was many months ago. Whoever set up the tank made it planted, one of the plants is on its way out, the other is not long for this world in my company 🤣 He offered a smoking price, when you consider the cost of the enclosure, which I am very grateful. Did a few smell tests on the way home 🤣 No sign of the T on the hour drive. I reminded myself it's what I would pay for the tank new.

But look, its alive!

Bought a confirmed female C. darlingi today. A very feisty girl who already has given me many threat poses and bit my straw. Lady Clyde doesn’t play!

Also, picked up an N. incei sling, can’t wait to see this little bugger grow!!

Got two slings i ordered some days ago.

A. juruensis m2 (n.d. ex huriana locality)
T. seladonia

and one freeby
Cyriopagopus sp bach ma
(dont know anything about that one except asian fossorial)
It’s crazy to me that you buy 2 mild arboreals and they give you a spicy, Asian fossorial.

Someone on another site was asking for help setting up their freebie sling from an expo. Bought a curly hair, and got- as a freebie and probably their second ever tarantula..... phlogius sp. black. 😬 Some vendors are pretty irresponsible.

For me it is also crazy that it is fossorial, my order screams arboreal....
I have to say i am against freebies in general.
These are pets and not sweets or toys.
I think in my next order i will declair that i dont want to receive any free tarantulas.
.
I will give the Bach Ma to a local breeder as a gift.
I had old worlds before, but i have two small children and a no old world tarantula policy in my house.

I totally agree. I’ve read up and planned for the T’s I buy. An unexpected one can be a stress to figure out what it needs quickly. The only freebie I’ve gotten is from a trusted seller who asked first what I already had and offered one that would fit well in that range.

I got a new Cyriopagapus lividus and a Brachypelma emilia 😍 I'm not a big fan of old worlds but I'm smitten with 'Olive' it's the only brachypelma I really like 😅
Only a couple more millenia til shes a full grown adult !!

Congratulations! Brachypelma is a new world species though.

Some very exciting slings arrived last week! Two Pseudhapalopus sp. 'Blue' and one Caribena laeta freebie, and then the main attraction: five Neischnocolus mecana slings. As soon as I saw them I couldn't resist getting some. Being a newly described species, and one I've never seen in the hobby before, there's zero information on their husbandry or behaviour, so I might make a separate thread to document their growth. A very exciting journey is ahead!

It was labeled "spicy af" so I'm assuming she is a sweetheart 😅

Also, I see the "all hail" all the time, what is the significance of this? Haha, I'm the only one on the outside, of a inside joke..
The spicy ones just need a little love!

That would be for the genic overlords. There are a few of us genic cult members here. (My signature line).
