Is a heating pad really that bad for millipedes?

Thanks for this, It has been curled for about a week now. Sometimes tight sometimes much looser, I can see it changes position slightly everyday and I can shine a light for a few seconds to see a leg twitch.

I'm not for certain, but that's what I was told by the pet shop owner who said he got them from the university.
