    My T has P.M.S.

At least you can see yours! My A.versicolour has been in hiding for about a week now. Her web is behind her cork bark so I can't see her at all. :( I would be worried but I went through the same thing with her back in early November, took her 3 weeks to come out again.

    So, who names their T's?

I name my T's. I named most as slings which has lead to some of my T's having transgender names. We have a female A.avic named Le'Stat, and a male A.avic named Cricket. (you are what you eat{D ) A female A.purpurea named Berry, a A.versicolour named Magenta sex undetermined. A G. rosea female...

    Anyone Never Handle Their Tarantula?

I don't handle mine, for thier sake I feel it is healthier that I don't. If I were to drop one and injure it or worse I would feel awful. That isn't to say I don't touch any of them. I will occasionally pet the A.avic.,and twice I have had to help one of my T's out of a bad molt. But I do not...

    Seattle Area Tarantula Enthusiasts

I know a bit of HTML, a message board isnt so hard to set up. I think getting a group together is a great idea. I am in Kent, and work in Bellevue, so not too far from anyplace in the Seattle area really. I know there are quite a few keepers around this neck of the woods.

    fang problem

I am hoping someone here will have some insight on this. My juvie B.smithi molted recently. When he molted his fangs got stuck and he was unable to molt completly. Luckily I saw what was happening, so I got a dish of warm water and a paintbrush and set about helping him get loose of the old...

    What Avic. To Get

I have several larger avics. from my experience the A. metallica is the most visible. The A.versi and both A. purpureas I have tend to stay in thier tube webs and I rarely see them. The pet shop near me also has a large A.purpurea and i noticed the same there. They have had him a couple months...

    When rosies attack

Unfortunately the poor thing didnt make it, no death curl just died on her feet. I think my daughter and her BF now understand the danger of dividing tanks that way and why it really isnt a good idea. :(

    When rosies attack

Poor thing was starting to curl, so I got her into an ICU shes too weak to resist much. I have her in the back of my armoire where it is dark and warm. I never thought splitting the tank was a good idea in the first place. I am resisting the urge to check on the avic, I got some water into...

My other two Ts decided to get with the program. I don't know when my A.versi molted she snuck it in sometime between noon and 6pm. I just happened to glance over and notice her shed beneath her. then I looked in on the B.smithi he has assumed the position and is just about finished :) So I...

White toes, pink toes, so many toes

We have the same thing here, we have two Ts that were purchased as A.avic, and one that was purchased as a A.metallica. All three have white hairs 2 are covered with it, both of these are otherwise almost black with pink toes that fade into white near the tips. the other one still looks...

Totally serious question....why do you hold your Ts if you do?

I rarely handle any of our Ts, but I have handled them, I wanted to make sure I could. Now I know I can handle them if it is neccesary. I just dont see the point in taking the risk of having one of my Ts injured in a fall because I was handling it just because I wanted to.

    the Ts that molt together,......

Heya Crawldad! You know I wondered that myself. My Ts are all on the same feed, same schedule, same temp, They all get watered at the same time, same substrate, ect. I know they are at least somewhat aware of each others presence. I have a versi sling and a purpurea sling, I have to keep thier...

    Arboreal Set-ups

This is very true. We have 8 avics at this time. They don't really hunt much, most prefer to just hang around and wait for dinner to wander by. If you have too many plants and decorations they almost never get thier meal. Also too many places for crickets to hide can lead to infestation of...

    the Ts that molt together,......

Our Ts are all at different stages developmentally, some are slings, some juvies and a few semi adults. Has anyone else noticed that their T's all molt...

    B.smithi colouring

Can someone tell me at approximatly what size do B.smithis begin to look like a B.smithi? My little guy is about 1.75" and still cream colored just a bare hint of lines on his legs. He has a nice little burrow right up against the glass so I can see him all the time. His abdomen is turning a...
