    Poorly G. Rosea

Looks to me like you should be expecting a molt soon, which may explain her lethargy. I would let her molt before you move her around, just keep a full water dish near her, maybe have two or three spread around the enclosure if there's a lot of floorspace so she has easy access to water until...

Handling and Holding Your T - How Much Is Too Much?

I might regret posting in this thread... but what the heck. This is just an idea, but perhaps we need an experiment to settle this: Get 9 slings of a species that are fast growing, hardy, and typically a little skittish but with harmless venom [I'm thinking GBB?]. Take 3 of those and once they...

    Please help me Identify

Maybe it's just the pictures, but my A. versicolor is around that size and her abdomen is not that color at all. Does it have pinkish hairs?

    What are the chances...

Awesome, thank you! :) One is all I'm really looking for. I'm going out Wednesday to have a look around. When you say they're not very big, does that mean they don't grow 'full size' in Northern CA, or is it just difficult to find a larger specimen?

    What are the chances...

...of finding Scolopendra polymorpha in Sacramento, CA? I'm assuming they're slim, since I read they are mostly in the southern part of California. On http://bugguide.net, there is one that was found in Marin County which is pretty close to Sacramento. Has anyone in or near Sacramento ever found...

    Candles/air fresheners?

I agree, I haven't had any problems, but I don't want to take a risk. I always keep my bedroom door closed when my mom is going on her annual air-freshener or candle frenzy.

Gorgeous beast you've got there! 'Tis the season, I've been getting quite a few molts myself!

    GENDER HELP please

They both look male to me... however, it may be because they're so small, it's hard to see evidence of spermathacae. A more experienced eye would probably have a better idea.

Comment by 'Elsvir' in media 'B. smithi, 2.5"'

Woo! :-D Hopefully there will be more that agree.

    Biting the KK lid

My 1.5" B. smithi did that a lot for a while. It was probably because he was very stressed; he fell off my desk (stupid me, sitting on the floor next time!) and I changed the substrate several times (too chunky, too damp, not enough). He even has the hairs on his front legs missing because of...

    Molts

That's actually pretty cool, I may try that one day when my B.Smithi gets bigger. Did you have to do anything special to preserve it, or just stuff the cotton balls in, paint 'em, and you're done?

    Molts

Oh, yeah (sorry for posting twice) I have a quick question that fits into this topic. During a quick search on google, I read a little question board thing and somebody said that when they take the fresh molt, they stuff cotton balls in the abdomen to give it a natural look. Do any of you do...

    Molts

Haha, wow. Some beautiful skins there. I only just got a my first tarantula who has yet to molt, but I do plan on keeping all of the molts. Who knows, maybe when I get my own place and succumb to the addiction, I'll have a nice collection like that.
