    Tarantula Speec

I used he same topic for my informational speech. The class was very interested, even though they didn't share my views. A big academic warning is to watch your time. My speech was supposed to be 10 minutes, and I went on for 24. That was even after paring it down so it fit during rehearsal...

    OBTs All One Species?

I have several G roseas, and they are almost always out, and they're easy to find in any LPS. For coloration, Brachys are great. My B smithi and B vagans are always sitting out in the open saying "look a me!" Jeri

    A neat little spider link.

BOTHER A LIVING SPIDER Poke and prod the spider with your mouse, also 'grab' one of its legs with your mouse and drag it around the screen -- tell me it's not alive! Also anywhere on the map hit the space bar and it leaves little bugs, watch the spider go after them. This is totally...

I did that first. There is a lot of information about communal setups, but I couldn't find the answer to my specific question, so I asked it. Jeri

    Communal Question

I know that many people keep communal setups of various Avics, and I am thinking of setting up one of my own someday. My question is, how do you control the population in the setup? Do you just let them cannibalize each other or do you remove some from time to time? Thanks for your help, Jeri

LP. How big do they really get?

She was just over two years old when she died. It was her seventh molt, unless I missed some when she was very small and hiding. I do hope to get another in the future. Jeri

    aboreal in a terrestrial set-up

I had my first Avic in a terrestrial set up for a short time when I first got him. He didn't seem to mind. My experience it that males (I've had two) just tend to wander about the cage, and the females (one so far) make their own place. Being that small, it probably won't mind much...

LP. How big do they really get?

Mine was about 9" when she didn't make it through her last molt. It was sad, since I had her since she was a 3/4" s'ling. Jeri

    Another reason to hate petco.

The one and only time I stopped in a PetCo, I had a very different experience. It was just as stupid, but very different. I stopped in the PetCo in Robinson Town Center, near Pittsburgh, partly out of morbid curiosity from the horror stories I've read here, but mostly to see if I could get...

How old is your oldest tarantula that you have right now?

I was given a G rosea not long ago by a coworker. When he gave her to me, he counted back how long he had her, and how long the person who gave her to him had her, and estimated her age to be about 27 years. Jeri
