there's a simple answer, they have been here 350-400 million years i don't know, we have for a tiny fraction of that number and we haven't faced our first mass extinction yet. you hate them because they are better you, all of us.
that explains how some can inject different venoms, read that on the boards somewhere.. is there a list of these sp?
this thread is reinforcing how unreliable the LD50 table is, though it can be quite accurate. mabey someone somewhere has instuments that can inject tiny doses of potent venoms...

stumbled across this, i know the table has been posted before but this one gives values for how much is injected aswell and as far as i know hasn't been posted.
if i calculated right, a.australis can possibly be considered more...

This thread hit me like a ton of bricks. I know exactly what you mean, when a T dies. It dosn't even have to be your own. I have an emotional attachment with my "pets" buddies like i would with my mother/father or g/f, I even try to avoid the threads about lost T's/Scorp's/what have you. I...
metallica hit the nail on the head there. i too would like to know the life expectancy of a female though (given average conditions).
EDIT: btw lol (metallica) i remember that thread. (yr sign)
be careful about introducing pillbugs(or others) into an environment, as stated many times before the pesticides in modern agriculture can easily kill your collection. I, personally, segregated mine for a month and introduced the babies with nothing but praise at the results.
Wow, perfect timing. My 4"ish cherry red just bit me the other day. I wasn't looking at him so the bite came to my attention slowly, probably why I was able to stop from throwing him across the room. Forearm, just walked up and planted one (testament to their defensive nature). Profuse sweating...
I just picked up one of these. Great species, mine has overhauled her enclosure twice so far. She created her own burrow but stays in the open 95% of the time. She's 2" so I keep her in a deli container.
As far as I can tell they are great eaters, mine hasn't refused any food at all yet. Quite...
Air works well, because they don't like it. I would go with Travis K, just pick it up. 90% of the time I just grab my Ts, but 90% of my Ts are docile as a tranquilized dog.
A double brood:clap: congrats! What species it that? No good at IDing but I'd put money on Tityus sp. Never had babies so no experience, logic says to separate her to collect the babies, but try to put as little stress on her as possible.
Sorry, had to clear that up. Figure if I anticipate an outcome, be easier to deal with. Sounded farfetched and here's confirmation. Haven't had a T that sits regularly in it's burrow sticking a couple legs out, always found that to be adorable though. Makes me want one even more now:}. Thanks...
I don't think I should do this, but now I have to know. I was going to ask this in the thread which just closed, you know, that one. Forget about it, let's say this has nothing to do with it.
I want to get into the more defensive T's, have had new world terrestrials mainly. I've been wanting to...
