Today, after several months finnaly molted my Pterinochilus Murinus raised from tiny tiny sling "Ello" ("He") and it is also her (note the gender "her") second birthday.
I'm so happy because I think is now a confirmed female, so today is a BIG day: molten day, birthday, sex-change day and...
Arrived from work and my OBT sling is upside down molting again the third time since I get her 3 months ago, one time 4th July the other 6th Aug. and today 6th Sept.
I will post pictures when she finish
I bought a new enclosure for her (I hope to be a she) 10"x6,5" x 5"tall but I think is so big for a tiny sling of 1,5" legspan, as she didn't ate yet looks so small, is so cute :p however, the obt will soon need something this big because they arrived at the same time and it is already 5 times...
I know but with that sizes is not practical at all, I'm talking about a piece that has 2 or 3 inches thick and more than 1 foot long the smallest one, and the price is so expensive...
I'm searching for something that can be used for the same, with the b.hamorii I carved a piece of pine to make...
@AngelDeVille Looks great I like it, here in Asturias, Spain is hard to find cork bark in apropiate size, all I could find are big pieces of more than one foot for bigger animals like big adult iguana...
@aphono Thanks for all the info I will put that in the next enclosure
@AnObeseHippo Previously I put in the enclosure some wood sticks making teepee and a hide (a piece of tube with 3/4" diameter) she ignored the wood sticks and the hide only was used to stay out in the upper part between his...
I will try, but as the spider is in the edge of the lid with the wall of the deli container, I'm afraid that she can run in the moment I try to open to take the picture, and the plastic is so cloudy to take the picture from the outside
Here are some pics of the enclosure:
And one by side to...
I readed all I found about each of the slings I own, but this is not the same as the knowledge of the people that had passed by the same situations. According to everything that is said out there, this species is very webber and the mine has no web at all, this plus the tiny abdomen and the fact...
Hello,
This is my first GBB sling and molted for the first time since I have it the last thursday, from 2.5cm to 3.6cm (0.98inch to 1.18inch), I offered food several times (crickets and mealworms) and it simply ignores it....
I know that several species have several behaviours and times to...
Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens 'Blue'
Molted fee minutes ago, I don't see variance in size but is too soon to apreciate it... Very happy with this beautiful specimen
Just moulted P.murinus 'Ella' , the last time exactly one month ago doubled his size (from 2.5cm to 5cm), this time didn´t see yet but looking through the web looks amazing. This noon I said to my wife: I think 'Ella' is about to moult because is in the ground, but nah is impossible not a month...
Good reading, thanks!!!
First of all I want to remember that this question was only curiosity and I'm agree that any kind of experimentation with our beloved critters is something horrible and undesirable...
@cold blood I maybe had to choose another word instead of species, different species...
Sometimes the hibritation occurs in the nature, making new species and increasing the diversity.
I don't want to be inconsiderate, I just want to learn... Why this is the "biggest problem" or the "hated enemy" hibridation is something that people really do? The mules is know that are sterile...
Hello,
I never breed, and also I will not do it in a future, but I always have this question in mind, as you can breed donkeys with horses, is possible to breed different types of tarantulas in the same species as B. Hamorii with B. Bohemei or Poeciloteria Metallia with P. Regalis. ???
Hello Everyone
I want to say thank you to all who shared their knowledge in this post, and tell you that the little sling molted finally this friday "Roja" even regrow his lost leg. It is still in her hide so I don't know how much grow but I know she is OK because I see movement when I look...
Yeah, you are rigth, but this hamorii sling is now 8 weeks ( 2 months ) whitout eating at all nor 1 or 2 weeks... and 8 weeks to this small creature is a huge amount of time to my eyes when the OBT sling stoped eating before molting was only a week or week and a half his butt darkened and...
