First of all: I'm really amazed that you are a member of this forum since 2007 and that this is your first post.
I think that you could maybe add a ceramic-heat lamp or one of these infrared-heatmats and have it above your enclosures with the heat-side downwards. That might be a bit more energy...
You won't find them. He's croatian and I doubt that a US-Store has the exact same container as his local store in croatia. He even said in one Video that -as far as he knows- they are only availiable in croatia.
Maybe you can find someone from croatia who happens to have one of these stores next...
I think he once stated that he buys all of his plastic tubs in local shops, so you might only be able to get them in croatia.
But similar enclosures should be available in many stores, so you can probably find something that works just as fine in your local area
You could keep shrimp or maybe these aquatic micro-crabs in it
Or maybe make it just a pure nano-aquascape without any animals living in it.
Or, if you won’t mind to „waste“ the filter by keeping everything dry, you could make it an enclosure for some fancy isopods.
Or house a small group of...
Looks like it could also nicely be used to store and gut-load feeder insects inside.
And apparently they even ship to Austria (aka to me). Nice.
Maybe I´ll order something like this if I fail to find it somewhere in a local store.
Maybe there´s some similar products that won´t soften up. But I don´t know too much about that, so I´d recommend asking someone in your local hardware-store (or hoping that someone who is more knowledgeable than I am will answer to this thread).
Oh, okay then I was wrong about that.
I know about the green flourescent Protein, that´s even used in some science kits, but I wasn´t sure, if it could also be used to make a tarantulas carapace glow, as I only saw it being used in vertebrates (especially various types of fish and some mice)...
Polyeurothane, that´s the stuff I was talking about. I just heard it being mentioned in a video, so now I remembered it.
I think that could be used to seal the wood without too much efford.
Well, as far as I know scorpions primarily glow under UV-light because of the micro-structure of their carapace. Altough (as far as I´m informed) we don´t know what exactly is responsible for this glowing and I think that it wouldn´t really be possible to implement the genes that influence a...
I was thinking more about something like a clear plastic sealant that can be sprayed on. I don´t know about any specific brands, as I´m not from the US, but I have seen such clear coatings/sealants being used in various YouTube-videos. Maybe someone in a local hardware store could help you find...
You said that having every chubby sealed with a plastic liner would be a lot of work, but there´s also some spray-on sealants that maybe wouldn´t be that much work. And you could try using Acrylic for the doors and have them being Held in place by some of These door-holding Magnets that can be...
Oh, i thought the OBT-form of the P. murinus also was a recessive mutation that somehow got enforced via artifical selection. Interesting to know that they actually are a wild form.
Well if the N. incei is just two recessive mutations that were bred out, it could also be that such mutations also...
Hello
I think everybody know the OBT or the N. incei "Gold", but I don´t know of any other tarantula "Morphs".
Does anyone here know about oather tarantulas which are bred in special colours that arent usually found in nature?
I think having all your animals in a well-insulated space with a heater that will Keep radiating heat even when the power is out might work.
Maybe build a simple wooden-cabinet with shelving for the animals and have a bucket or tank with a strong heater in it. The water should have enough...
Which roaches do you want to contain in which kind of container?
I think Fluon which is often used to contain ants in open enclosures could be the Thing for you.
I found this page where you can buy it.
I just use the cheapest mechianical timers I can find at my local hardware-store.
They work and I only have them for led-lights, so there´s no harm to be done if they fail
Thats a interesting idea.
I once had mold in a small plastic-enclosure and I just put it into the microwave (without the spider of Course) and once I got it out and had it cool down, I added springtails, isopods (to eat the dead mold) and the spider and voila, the tank was completely mold-free...
As I´ve often seen it used in invertebrate enclosures and Aquariums, i think it´s safe to assume that it´s safe to use with your inverts. (I´m not sure about the millipedes tho.)
And for cleaning I would recommend to wash it with hot water and get rid of rotting/fouling pieces. Maybe bake it at...
