Breeding chamber. Large tub with three AF P.subfusca + freshly molted MM HL form. See his cute little paws as the bottom left. Hopefully everyone plays nice! This species is so chill!
@DeTwan Venom wasn't hating, he was just trying to understand fully what you were trying to do. Things only get nasty on the boards when people start escalating.
So back to the original subject, how do you see this playing out? Why do you think it is better to have all three females in with your male at the same time? I just want to know and understand your thoughts and ideas.
Yeah, just seeing whom is receptive. I havent heard the male drum yet but I want everyone around each other so that they get aquainted to the situation and enviroment. Being the communal Ts they are I thought why not let them be altogether especially since each one has its hide as a "safe space"
...you know like a college campus. My original girl was out first, just woke up and pulled the 2 other females out of the tub & capped their hides, and now its just her and the guy. The other 2 AF will be right next to the tube so when they hear the male drumming they will know whats up before getting rotated into the mix. Not really sure how communal I really will get since these have never truely lived together. Probably just rotate them out over next couple months.
Yes @Venom1080 & @Leonardo the Mage , I left all the cages open for 5-6hrs last night, only one female emerged. The male never left his enclosure. I can tell the male is not quite ready to do his thing. He molted just a week or so ago, so I'd say that's normal. More or less planning on leaving just one female enclosure and the male together, and rotating every couple days for the next several months. These are definitely one of the more chill ornamental specie, I have to literally twist a leg to get them to posture up, so I do wonder how peaceful things might go if I keep all of them communal.
Like I said @Venom1080 , these are super chill. I think that if two female ran into each other they would slap paws (lol) and go on their marry way in different directions. This is also a communal specie, relatively speaking. All in all, Im all about experimenting. What happens in the wild when two female run into each other, does that mean someone must die every instance? All the gurls are well feed, up until now but I am curtailing food, so well see whos hungry in a few months!
