wanted any unwanted reptiles , we rescue them (lockport)

we are starting up a rescue for any unwanted reptiles. my dear friend ask ask if we can cause she is a lincens rescue for wildlife for any wildlife babies needs help. she ask us cause once in a while people might ask her cause people lets reptile lose outside but she don't know anything about them. we are not in it for the money , we are just don't want any retiles lose outside . when we rehome the reptile we just ask what we have in food etc.. we will make sure people will know how to take care of them. if we have a funny feeling about someone that is just not right we will not let the animal go. call me if you have any the you are unable to take care of or just don't want them plus with spring coming up and see any wildlife babbies that needs help I will get you incontact with the person I know,

End of ad

So I came across this add on my local craigslist..I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that if you can't take care of your reptiles any more they would be much safer if you rehomed them to a pack of wolves!

This is just rediculous, I edited out the number but I am going to call tomorrow and see if this is some type of joke or sumthing..I'm thinking that a person can't be this challenged yet work a computer well enough to place an add on craigslist successfully....

Hope you all get a good laugh from this. If you want to share some funny animal related craigslist ads(please include the ad if possible) or story's feel free!

Possibly a kid with heart in the right place but needing some education. If so, which seems likely, imagine the intelligence free environment the person is in. Help should be offered and certainly not ridicule. The person needs to speak one on one with someone who treats him/her as a peer. Who imparts factual information in a manner like the person must know this and that but probably forgot. Nurture inquisitiveness and curiosity which is the root to all effective learning while avoiding competitiveness.

We see those adds over here too. Mostly it's poor people, living on the edge of society... They don't have money to live properly themselves, but still wants all kinds of animals and they think this is the way for getting them for free...

The second sentence of your response describes the majority of the city I live in...the last sentence describes what I suspect they are doing...
I will kelp in my what the snark said though and will call them with an open mind and then if I feel they are scammers I will nail them to the wall! Lol!

It sounds like the person has their heart in the right place. Release of exotic animals has been a problem for decades. Maybe the person really is merely trying to obtain free animals. If he/she is well versed in reptile care, better that than the animals being released into an inhospitable environment. Perhaps the ad - taker is unaware that there are already a slew of established reptile rescues across the country.

Were you referring to the individual's poor command of the English language? As evidenced by the majority of posts on this forum alone, proper spelling and grammar are obviously not prerequisites for using a computer. Perhaps English is a second language for the person that posted the ad. Or, could be a home grown No Child Left Behind... Considering that spell check is available on most computers, I found the presentation of the ad more sad than ridiculous.

I've also read similar ads on CL, and wondered about them myself, I hope you find an answer to this mystery.

No offense taken at all, there are plenty of jobs around here and the education system is pretty good... The problem lies with the people...many choose to sit at home drink and play x-box all day instead of working... Its sad this was such a beautiful city,it has small mansions on many of the side roads that now sit empty because the criminal element that has moved in from the surrounding major city's...

I called the number and a woman answered...instead of the normal hello that most people use when answering the phone she said "who dis be?"
I said I'm calling about your craigslist add she said" O you gots some reptiles I can have" I don't be payin no money for em I just do takein" you got cages forem and food? If not I gunna need money from you too" I just hung up I asked no further questions its pretty clear what's going on!
