This isn't the first time that a person has done something horrible to an animal, usually a snake, only to have Karma immediately remind them of their own stupid, vile existence. A woman in the community where I first taught school burned her house down with red sulfur trying to destroy a snake which she KNEW was harmless. A man totalled his brand-new Chevy Silverado just a few weeks later in front of my house trying to run over a King Snake crossing the road when he lost control of the truck in his too-enthusiastic swerve and wound up in a deep drainage canal AND got charged with reckless driving when he told the responding officer what he'd done and how that had happened. Sadly, though, even innocent people sometimes suffer from the stupidity of people trying to kill snakes, like the five-year-old kid, fishing with his grandpa, who got shot by a police officer who was shooting at a Rat Snake in tree nearby.

I hear that, some people do stupid things to harmful and harmless animals, they get what they deserve, for trying to kill something that most likely wasn't going to attack them.

People like that usually weed themselves out of the gene pool. Thankfully.

Unfortunately, they are no longer allowed to weed themselves out. 'Big Brother' now protects them from themselves and they continue to reproduce.
