Yet another sexing thread

I need some confirmation that I am seeing the right thing.
First, S. calceatum, I am pretty sure this is a female:


Next is A. metallica, guessing this is female too:


I have outlined what I think are the spermathaceae:


And this, I think is a male P. regalis:


So what do you think? Am I correct?

I am guessing these are molts under a microscope?

I think your P. regalis might be female.

I see the structures you are pointing out. as male access. organs, but I also THINK I see the uterus externus just below that.

I like to see them flat.

Are you using a compound microscope?

For sexing I prefer a Dissecting - Stereoscope ( 3D ) when you look through it you see things in 3D and it's much easier to pick out structures, even though the magnification is lower than a compound scope.

I'd still like to see those structures flat so as to see the profile.

neither of these is a regalis but you can see they are very diff.

I see your point there with P. regalis. It looks alot like the picture of P. ornata.

I use a compound microscope as it is the only one I have available at this time.

Here is a dorsal view of the regalis in question if it helps in any way - it is about 6'':


The colors do point out a female as it is more whitish than the pictures I have seen.

I guess it is pretty obvious with S. calceatum and I will have to wait some more for A. metallica.

Dorsally, your regalis appears to be female.
