Surprisingly to add to my small collection, ran into someone who has a friend(who is a mother) and her son has gone into the military. Long story short, he has a colbalt blue she doesn't want to feed, that is full grown. I get cage and all, and the lady told her I like tarantulas!!! WOO HOO another agressive SOB lol;P

Awesome addition! My little h. liv is pretty cute, and my big haplo. sp. is awesome. An adult cobalt blue, cage and all seems like a great score to me!

My H.Liv is pretty unactive and never burrows.
Means you get to see it more that way. Mine didn't burrow or move around much for a few days, but now has burrowed all the way down to the bottom of the enclosure. I managed to convince the little guy to burrow next to the sides so I can still sort of see it. It comes out looking around almost every night when I peek in to check on the Ts.

They are awesome, but all my Haplo's have been major pet holes so I have been kind of dissapointed in them. Gorgeous blues and tiger stripes full of attitude but neither of mine came out of their burrows -EVER. :wall:
Hopefully yours won't be as anti-social as mine!;)
Any pics of your new blue beast?...

congratulations! I almost got myself one last year but the owner said he rarely saw the T come out. So its like i'd be taking care of a tank full of substrate! haha

Does anyone have an experience a T of this specie that shows herself out in the open?

still haven't talked to her anymore about the T, but just saw that my OBT from Pauls pet shop molted and I've had it for just a couple of weeks!! Still confident that it's getting close to time for my L. parahyabana. I love this hobby!!:D :D :D

Sounds like your addiction is growing. :)
H. lividum are indeed pet holes. Probably wont' see it often. Just remember, when they want to they can move pretty fast.

I figured it would be molting soon. How much did it grow? My G. aureostriata grew fairly quickly until it hit about 3-4 inches. I was able to confirm that it's a female last molt. They are great T's. Enjoy.
