Caught this lil monster while it was busy chewing a hole in some posts in the yard. It is a Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa micans)

wow thats amazing! I never saw that type of bee before. It kinda looks like a bee crossed with a capanter ant.

Hence caarpenter bee..... very nice, i have tried really hard to get a bumble bee to nest in my garden but yet again another year goes by wihtout success

The next bee that I am going to be adding to m collection is a Golden Bumble Bee almost as big as this guy but it is a solid bright goldenrod color ( i don't have one yet because they seem pretty smart and are able to avoid the net EVERY time {D )
