Hi Everyone,

I received a 1.0 Xenesthis sp. “Bright” last friday. On unboxing noticed it has a asymmetrical abdomen with a tear on the left side. Attached video.

What do you think might have happened? Is there something that can be done?
Leave it be, make sure it has a water dish, that looks to be in heavy premoult with how black the abdomen is.

Not sure about the tear but it could have started tryna moult then got shipped. Just speculation though I genuinely have no idea what it could be.

Thanks for the response, indeed just trying to let him be. With a waterbowl and wet/dry areas!

He’s not leaking hemolymph, right? I’d increase the soil moisture on corner and see if he gravitates there.
No he isn’t. The tear, looks like it is through a membrane and can see a dark abdomen inside! Towards the end of the video there is a clear view. I have done that. Kept half the substrate more moist but he is just hiding at the moment.
