I would like to purchase a purple T, and the ones up for sale now is a X immanis, a Phormictopus cautus and a Platyomma pink bloom.

What would be a great purple T? I've read about the dimorphism about these species and the brazilian pink bloom female is already brown. I dont know about the immanis and the dominican purple. Pricewise the immanis is twice the cost of those two. I am beginning to narrow myself down to the phormictopus cautus, but does the purple show?

what would be a great purple tarantula to pick from these three?

Phormictopus cautus isn't in the hobby, the species that used to be sold under that name is now Phormictopus sp. "Dominican Purple".

I know a bunch were recently brought into the US and are being sold under the cautus name. After inquiring, i was told they are the same as the “dominican purple”

I own all three species, but none are adults yet. Immanis and platyomma are probably 3-4” and my “P. cautus” is pnly about an inch.

IME Immanis are very quick and skittish. I believe that they arent bery purple either... Carapace is kinda like purplish starburst !but the rest of the T. is mostly black with res abdomen hair. and the MM has a lot more color, but i feel like pictures i ha e seen are almost more red than purple...

P. sp Platyomma is gonna be kinfa similar, only the MATURE males will be REALLY purple.

The phormictopus is gonna be the purplest i think. But i am going off mostly pictures i have seen.

Out of the 3 species, i will say plattyomma are the worst hair kickers IME and Immanis are the koat skittish/bolty. The phormictopus i predict will have the most attitude, and it recently threw a full hody temper tantrum about its enclosure getting a little spray. LOL

Just a couple other suggestions, A. purpurea and A, juruensis m2 (Ex a. sp peru purple) are also Purple in color.

I would get the cautus/Dominican purple. Pamphobeteus females are brown. The Immanis isn't that purple but I would take either one over the pampho any day. The Dominican purple are very purple regardless of sex.

Thanks for all your recommendations! I feel I should get the Phormictopus Dominican Purple.

and I am better off with the dominican purple because I already have been keeping a phormictopus auratus the last seven months. I should know how her distant cousin behaves. Like right now my auratus dug up more dirt from under its substrate for a bigger cavern and sealed the entrance means a molt is coming.

Thanks again

Yeah. I have both auratus and Dominican purple. IME, Auratus are shy and hide alot until they get larger. So far the purples are always out and litteraly chase chrickets. After having mine for about 3 months they still haven't burrowed at all and they are still slings. They are easy to keep like all Phormictopus.

X immanis females are purple on the carapace and the males are one of the most purple spiders i have seen. Not all but most
