I've seen this many times when I get crickets. Its supposed to be a clean up crew from what I have heard (cannot confirm this). I have left them in with the crickets to see what happens and they don't attack the crickets. They eat the sheddings mostly. They are Larder beetles larva.

I've always wondered if these guys would eat flesh off bones too but I've never been able to keep them long enough.

I have had something that looked exactly like this in an order of crix I got. Not sure on sp. but I left mine in ther the crickets thrived, but they pupated into a small flying beetle that started flying every time you open the top. They did eat all the left overs and dead crickets(but not live). Not sure if there the same though.

All i did was gather them add them into an enclosure with some egg crate and feed them dead insects and cat food and leave them to it they thrive on neglect.

I had a healthy colony going in symbiosis with my discoids (roaches)
They do indeed help with the filth
