Hello! For a little bit I've been doing research on the Blue Death-Feigning Beetles, as I would love to have a few as a pet. In my research so far, I've found that they are desert beetles that are scavengers of sorts, and are omnivorous. I did read that they eat other dead bugs, fruits and vegetables, but I was wondering about rodents as well. I currently have two ball pythons I feed one medium rat, and the other a small, and they sometimes get picky and don't want to eat. So I was wondering if I got a small group of these adorable beetles, if they would make a cute cleanup crew and also enjoy a rodent so the rat doesn't go to waste when the snakes turn them down. I appreciate everyone's thoughts!

I would think so they have been know to eat dead lizards and such my only concern would be the once they where done carcasses would need to be removed

Mine aren't the fastest eaters, so I'm going to guess that its going to start to smell before they are done.

As some have said, it is likely that they would nibble, but you’d need a LOT of beetles to handle a lot of excess rodent carcass.

The rodent would most likely start to rot prior to then eating it all, would be pretty smelly and gross.
