I have my A.avic in a 10 gallon octagon tank with a large piece of cork bark and some plants. I think it's just all in the way you have your T set up. They don't really need anything this big but I spoil my girl.why no heat lamp?? for a pink toe they need more humidity them most other spiders. why is a ten gallon too larger? Just looking for some more insight.
If your room is at least 70F, no extra heat is neededwhy no heat lamp??

your statement implies they would not be able to live in the wild. :?The reason for the concern about putting T's in an oversized tank is that they have very poor eyesight. They count on finding prey by vibration. If you put a T in to large a tank, it could have difficulty finding its food.
Most wild tarantulas do not die of old age. There's a REASON they have to have several hundred or several thousand babies in every eggsac just to continue the species.your statement implies they would not be able to live in the wild. :?
sure, but not because the habitat is too big. Most wild tarantulas do not die of old age. There's a REASON they have to have several hundred or several thousand babies in every eggsac just to continue the species.
No, you are right, plus they have predators and disease to deal with. But T's that live in the wild can an do starve. Weather that is to wet or to dry can change the amount and ease of catching food. I just don't keep most of my guys in bigger homes because they seem to be more comfortable and calmer in something smaller. I don't think the largest size kk is really all that small.sure, but not because the habitat is too big.![]()
