Worth rehoming an A. seemani?

I have a juv A. seemani roughly 9cm DLS, this species likes to burrow mine burrowed right down, I believe there isn't enough sub in my enclosure. I know they prefer to live underground, is it worth rehousing in deeper substrate?

When he gets spooked he bolts down into his shallow burrow, but starts trying to bolt out of the enclosure. He obviously doesn't feel safe in his burrow.

How much substrate is there? Definitely may be worth it if it makes the T feel more secure.

I recently rehoused my A. seemanni into an enclosure that gave her 7"-8" of sub to burrow in. She's burrowed just short of the bottom. This species definitely loves to dig, so although you don't have to provide as much substrate as I did, I wouldn't let them have less than 4" of substrate

i am always of a mindset that their comfort is paramount, so definitely give her more sub at the least.

If rehousing is the only way to give her the amount of substrate she probably wants, then I'd rehouse her. My girl has about 4 inches of substrate, and I'm even considering giving her more because she really seems to appreciate it

Well, it's a little bit too wide for him ...
Think of it this way: the more horizontal space he has, the less likely he is to put all the substrate he digs up right into the water bowl (although he's still probably going to put substrate in the water bowl)

I'm so bad at appropriate enclosure size, but whatever it should be okay

Too much horizontal space isn't a problem like too much vertical space is. It might be a bit of a waste because the space won't all be utilized, but at least it has the space to dig.

The problem is I have no shelf for him. It's a better home it will solve the issue of him trying to bolt out if the enclosure, and without a doubt he'll feel more secure once he settles in.

@Paul1126 You want to keep A.seemani with several inches of moist sub, these guys burrow like crazy.

Love the setup otherwise.
I wasn't happy with the original setup I have changed it, it has I'm guessing 7inches of sub now, the substrate is moist.
