Thats nuts, I know i once had a roughly 500 pound hammerhead hooked for 20 minutes before it broke the line and that was a crazy hard fight. I cant imagine more than double it.
For sure. It's a very impressive shark! But it doesn't really benefit much by being stuffed and put up on a wall either! With the world's shark population in danger for the only reason that humans exist, catching a big shark for bragging rights is pretty pathetic. It's great that you release what you catch, but too many people show no respect for anything except their egos and wallets.
I'd rather not get into a debate about hunting but would rather simply state that it's sad to see such an impressive creature being paraded around like King Kong.
no i agree, hence the reason any fish i catch is released. The only acception is when i catch Mahi Mahi, its my favorite food fish and isnt at all rare, so I eat it when i catch it. All others if i want a mounting made I take pictures and measurements and get a fiberglass replica of the size, then release the fish on its merry way.
