I've seen many spiders eating stink bugs, they do seem to dislike them, however. I don't think they're toxic, however because of their ability to survive contact with many pesticides, and their habit of feeding on toxic plants, i wouldn't feed them to my arachnids. They also have a hard shell, which could damage a small spider's chelicerae.
The Say's Stinkbugs that feed on the mallow in my backyard are occasionally taken by the Phidippus johnsoni and audax that live there, I've seen them wipe stinkbugs around in an attempt to remove the foul chemical they exude. Never tried feeding them, I really dont like the smell lol
In my area of North Carolina we have lots of soy bean fields which attract stink bugs. Even now, as I type, there are about a dozen on the outside of my home office window. It's kind of crazy how many we have right now. Yesterday I fed one to my wolf spider. It was weird... she went right after it, bit it, but then she walked away. An hour later she went back and finished it off; ate the entire thing.
I guess after they release the chemical, and it dissipates, they probably smell and taste better to a spider. My wolves wont eat anything with a hard shell. I spoiled them on paper wasp larvae
