will my snails breed with this substrate

my snails are gardens snails i caught outside on the side walk at night after a rainy day.I caught five of them.Will they breed in damp aspen bedding or should i put a piece of wood/a leaf in there for them to lay eggs? I feed them vegetables/fruit and they have a large bowl of reptile calcium and i woke up to them in the calcium bowl

a little bit ago i just added to the aspen topsoil. will they lay eggs in that?

Garden snails will lay eggs in the soil, but probably not in aspen shavings. You will need to give them a few inches of soil for them to lay egg into.

thanks one has been buried for a long time do you think that it was laying eggs in the mixture the mixture of aspen to soil is about 1.2

I would use soil ..oh and mist it down every other day ..the soil I cooked in my oven too kill any bugs ..good luck ..

I used a low watt heat lamp ..or you mat .. ..if it got cool in my room
