I need a high protein food to gutload my crix with. Everything at the petstore has calcium in it and I need another solution. I'm a college student so I don't really have much money and transportation is difficult. Would very high quality fish food work as a gutload, or is there something easier I could use?

You'd be better asking "what won't crickets eat?"

I feed my roaches iams catfood and some people would say I spoil them. Fish food will do fine but also will be expensive. Try kitten chow, small bits of kibble, very high in protein for growing kittiesand quite affordable. Don't sweat the calcium thing TOO much. As long as you're not feeding your t's mammals all the time you should be ok.

I feed my crickets fishfood instead of the petstore cricket food and it works very well. They seem to like it more then the petstore food and I think it works better.

Yeah get tropical fish food works better than fresh water stuff. I used to use the orange and green cube cricket food at pet shops, crickets never made it past 36 hours. With the fish food max so far is 2 weeks. Sadly local petshop crickets are now infested with parasites so after 2 scorps died I went to turkistan roaches.
