Today Chffan1 and I went on a field trip in Ozark Cnty, MO. We both caught an A hentzi.
Went here

Here is the one I caught

Sweet man were they easy to find? i love going on hunts :)
I had turn over alot of rocks. There were several rocks I kicked over that had sheds under them but no spiders. The one in the picture above also had a shed and I determined it was a female.

That's a nice Tarantula and finding the sling is like finding a needle in a haystack, great eyes.

That sling was in the right place at the right time, I flipped over the rock and just happened to see the dark spot on its abdomen against the lighter colored dirt. From 6' up it was a lucky spot, I almost disregarded it then I thought "nope, that isn't just any old spider" and called Brian over and I just kept thinking, "is this what I think it is?"

The sling is doing quite well, I smashed a pinhead nearly twice it's size and it has eaten the entire thing and has dug out a burrow in the peat moss.
