These guys run around quite often where I live. Found this one basking on a small tree the other day, thought I'd snap a pic for you guys :)

Dr Ac, Brings back fond memories of south Florida/Miami 20+ years ago. Btw, knight anoles absolutely hate green garden hoses!- at least the few I've seen and others I've heard about do. They'll often throw that big white throat fan as a response when you get near them with one in your hand! Don't know what their current status is but they were quite uncommon back then. Thanks for sending the pic.

T

edit- I guess it goes without saying that they probably mistake the garden hose for a snake- who knows?

I've never had the chance to test that out, nor have I heard of that before {D , but I'll try and see what happens if I find another :) they sure are temperamental though, garden hose or not!

I remember rescuing one from a cold front out side quite a few years back. It was laying out on our balcony, had turned almost completely black, and was barely breathing. We heated it up underneath the heatlamp for our iguana and sure enough, it was hissing in no time. That's some way to say thank you :sarcasm:

My brother in law caught one of these a few years ago and has been keeping it in a nice terrarium. Very pretty.

I am guessing this is another established invasive species in Florida, right?

Very cool nevertheless...

Correct. My favorite of the invasive species here in FL would have to be the Agama agama africana. African rainbow lizards.

Love this species, I have a pair of WC adults and let me tell you they got NOTHING on captive born babies of the same species. The baby I hatched from them is fearless, responsive, and just all around awesome, I can't head bob to music without the little gal/guy doing a territorial display right back at me. It also likes watching the computer screen to LOL

Much prettier than my male...

Inaccurate date FTW!
