My 6" G. Pulchra molted recently. All went well except now she has this hard white stuff (yes I felt it) on her abdomen. It looks like plaster almost. I wish I could post pics but I can't right now. Using someone elses computer. What is this stuff? How do I get rid of it?

I hope so, Ive been worrying a little.
It did have a bad moult, as some of its legs bend funny and look bad.
So do you think it will be okay?

The white "drop" is called hemolymph, it is spiders blood. But unfortunaly, it doesen't harden like human blood does. This must happen trough the bad molt.

You should try to patch that damage with glue, flour and "ear cleaning pick". But press GENTLY not harming the spider further. If you did good, that will be repared trough next molts.

If there is only a nakid "patch" without hairs and no hemolymph, there is only a scratch when spider was climing trough very tight spot.

The head peace is carpeace or cephalothorax and the rear is called abdomen. ;)

Oo thanks, Ive also just had a thought.. People warn you about spiders falling from a distance, What happens when you have an arboreal T and tank and they fall from it?

Arborial spiders normaly don't fall, but they can loose their grip if you water their enclosure instead of substrate since they can slip on wet glass/plastic. So be careful that you water only your substrate and provide your spider with daily fresh water bowl.
