YES!

I have been carefully watching over a widow outside my house w/ an egg sac.
One had just hatched, b/c the little babies were everywhere. And she had made another one :) So I decided after this sac hatched, I would take her in,
w/ my T's :) But last night, she had ANOTHER sac made!!! She looked really
wore out to. Skinny as a pea, and proud! She had those legs all around those sacs! I got some pics, and will post them :)

I fed her this morning, and she took it eagerly! I was so happy to see that :)

Now I have to wait longer before I can take her inside! lol

I just had to share w/ yall! How often does a widow make 2 sacs at a time?
I thought it was cool, and worth sharing :)

Awesome! I hope to see those pics very soon, the Widow is my favorite arachnid of all. Whenever my captives lay an eggsac, I immediately fatten them up. Actually frequently I will catch an adult Widow who appears undernourished and once I fatten her up on crickets or mealworms, will lay an eggsac. And this cycle I discovered has repeated itself in long term captives too of course.

Yes indeed! Widows rule!
Hey, what species do you have?
I have L.hesperus, L.geometricus, and L.bishopi. I will soon be getting L.mactans, L.variolus, and about 50 more L.bishopi slings.
Also working to get some goodies from overseas sometime this fall.
Nice to know there is another "Widower" out there.

I have L.hesperus, L.mactans, and L.geometricus. I need to replenish my L.bishopi into my collection. Last one I had, I discovered hanging from her silk by a single leg. Funny thing is she was actually stuck by wrapped silk around that single appendage. And I can recall her moving her chelicerae and plenty of fluids building near her mouth and between her fangs the evening before. I mean alot of fluid, digestive or venom or otherwise? Still puzzled about it. Unsuccessful moult? Also want to invest in more L.mactans. If you get any L.bishopi, will gladly monetarily invest in any that you are willing to depart with.
