Hi all,

i had a little discussion this week with a fellow hobbyist from switzerland, regarding the id of the below pictured Latrodectus.

As i´m more into ctenids, i don´t have any clue, which species this could be. The spider originated from Venezuela if that is of any help.

Thanks for any help!

Greetings,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
My guess is Latrodectus curacaviensis.
Very nice spider!!:worship:

Hi Christoph,

yeah, we guessed the same, but couldn´t rule out L. corallinus by colour (by locality that´s another matter....).

Hi,
Colour is a very bad method to id (widow) spiders.
They are so much widows I've never seen.
But your right by colour it could be L. corallinus ;-)
