Widow encounter

While making up beds at the beach cabin last weekend, I unfolded a mattress pad and found a Latrodectus hesperus inside with her eggsac. I gently refolded the mattress pad and carried it out to the enclosed porch.

She really was beautiful. I wanted to get a picture, but my daughter was way too interested in the spider for me to be able to hang on to her and get a decent photo.

no doubt they are beautifull and interesting spider, but I gotta say im pretty happy that theres no here, I love them like every spider, but not in my bed

There are widows in Canada(L.hespeus in BC, AB, ON, L.variolus in BC and AB,L.mactans in SK), unfortunately not in Quebec
