Hello.

I was wondering why the Pelinomius Muticus is called King Baboon.
For the Baboon side I understand but why King? Is there a logical explanation?

There's not really a logical explanation for any common name, imo. "It sounds cool to call it that" is a common reason for whatever common names get bestowed upon a tarantula species.

They're the largest old world tarantula. Probably cause of their size.

Size of baboon, or from what I heard, if you ever get bit you will know why they call it king baboon.

I just looked up "largest old world tarantula" and before all else, king Baboon popped up. It sounded like an opinion. But it was the Google answer. There may be leggier species but I think it may be the biggest owt. I know I've read somewhere it was. Lemme know if you know of bigger ones

Several Pokies and Hysterocrates to name a few...

Its not even the largest "Baboon".

I would consider it medium sized as far as Tarantulas go.
