Had to safe one of my big Gals from been stuck in molt,
they jammed themselfs in to tightest places they can manage to find/make and decide to molt there
then.... Oops......there in no room to come atta that old molt :rolleyes:
This is not the the first time this happened
I just got lucky to see it
Had to rip whole corner apart, verrrey verrey carfully
while she was molting to provide more room
not very smart

I think this is why I lost my C. shioedtei, I don't think her hide gave adequate room for her to molt. :eek: But I didn't catch it soon enough, she'd started molting during a week when my flashlight was busted, so I couldn't see her.

Guess we have to spider-proof all enclosures is best is possible to avoid sad accidents
just like child proof your homes

Thanks. It sucks, but you live and you learn, I guess, and this was definately a learning experiance for me.

I was amazed when my H. vonwirthi molted in his TINY little tube.. I don't know how he managed it!

Now that I think bout it.. Aidan's last hide where he molted wasn't that large either.

Luckily, I haven't had a problem yet..
