My a geniculatas burrow has been sealed for months basically it’s been sealed since I’ve had her. She molted about 3 few weeks ago she’s been very active since then and just moved all of the dirt out of her burrow and piled it on the side of her hide. Is there a reason why? Does anyone know why she would do this or is it just a spider thing I know genics like to rearrange and do this kind of thing but this seems a little overboard lol she’s never done this much before little hard to see but she has dug almost to the ground and has piled up all the substrate and moss it’s almost touching the top of her enclosure. Besides that it’s very interesting atleast she didn’t put it in her water bowl

She's just doing what she likes, normal behavior and not to be questioned, haha.

As others have said, there is nothing particularly wrong with your genic. My subadult female has done similar things in the past. The last time I rehoused her, I gave her extra substrate just to see how she would like it, she surely went down to the very bottom within a week. They are little bulldozers when they want to be.

a hide ≠ a burrow

yours has simply started digging its own burrow. There does not seem to be enough space for a proper burrow in that spot however and it also destabilized the hide at the same time.

you could leave it as is, or redo the setup to improve it and make digging a burrow possible.

She has a hide. There is enough room for her to burrow she made a long tunnel before going under her hide through to the other side but for some reason she filled it in. I made add a little more substrate or rearrange a bit but I think she could make a new one if that’s what she wanted to do. Seeing as how she sealed her hide from basically all sides i think she wants to be left alone for now

That’s cool! Does your genic still make burrows? I read they don’t do it as much when they’re bigger mine had a burrow before but she filled it in for some reason
Nope. He uses his hide in the evenings sometimes and when molting, but most often he just hangs out.

They're nuts! I'm an arboreal guy, but of the two terrestrials I have, a genic is one, & has BY FAR the biggest "personality" of all my spiders.... they're just bonkers, LoL
