Why are there silverfish all over my house?

I live alone in a casita in Tucson which I just moved back into after an absence of about for months. During this time a colony of silverfish seems to have taken up residence. To be honest, for the most part I'm not too concerned about them--they're pretty harmless, and unless they try to eat my books I don't mind them crawling around minding their own business. However, I'm currently watching one climb along the ceiling, and this does concern me, because I thought they were supposed to like high humidity. We haven't seen rainfall since March and I don't expect more until July, and I don't run a swamp cooler but I do have AC. I have plants that I keep in a humid terrarium, but the silverfish were already here when I brought it. Should I be concerned?

It is also somewhat concerning that I usually see them near the bookshelf, but it also collects a bunch of dust bunnies and is dark with crevices. I haven't seen any damage yet.

To be honest, I'd catch as many as I can and keep them.
Ok but where's the moisture coming from? Like I said, it's not so much the silverfish as the fact that I see them everywhere and I know they're supposed to like humidity and damp.
