The centipede should not be variant, which live in the mountains
forest ,Although the centipede is rarely, but they not rare, because it has not reached the level of the rare.in addition.thank you for your reply!

As far as I know, to consider it like a Scolopendra subspinipes is maybe too risky.

The spp in "subspinipes complex". (IMO subspinipes need a taxonomic revision) are...

Valid

subspinipes
dehanni
mutilans
piceoflava
japonica
gastroforeata
cingulatoides

Somebody considere S. multidens and S. spinossisima inside of this group, but they are considered a valid species by the whole taxonomist.

Non Valid (all of that needs a revision)

"stripped legs"
"Malasyan jewel"
"Thai jewel"

The only sp, i've never seen is S. subspinipes gastroforeata...

But - Scolopendra subspinipes gastroforeata (Philippines)
Wang described it with "pits on sternite"

Not to probable...

I don't know what we have infront of...

Can you give us more detailed pictures, like spiracles sternites or "mouth" part?

Cheers

Well, they are in China, so that should limit what they can be.

@ Carles:

as far as I kow, Sc. sub. gastroforeata isn`t valid any more....
Hey! Thanks for the info!

To make more complicated this toppic: Some new info...

S. subspinipes cingulatoides ·
S. subspinipes dehaani · (Correct name; non, de hanni or dehanii)
S. subspinipes fulgurans · (I forget it in may valid list post)
S. subspinipes gastroforeata · (Non valid,)
S. subspinipes japonica ·
S. subspinipes multidens · S. subspinipes spinosissima · (Now are up in the taxon, they are separately spp.)
S. subspinipes mutilans ·
S. subspinipes piceoflava ·
S. subspinipes subspinipes ·
S. subspinipes var. concolor (Newport, 1844) ·
S. subspinipes var. fissispina L. Koch, 1865 ·
S. subspinipes var. molleri Verhoeff, 1892
Color variants like S. heros.

A question more; where do you extract the info to be actualiced respect of taxonomy?

I've counted 171 sp. (without spp.) but I've read until 202 described sp. inside of this genus.

Whats we have to recognise as a valid?

Cheers
Carles
