My wife wants to get a Whites tree frog and with a little searching on the web I have found a lot of different info. Several sites claim a adult only needs a 10 gallon tank with a inch or so of water in the bottom. Other sites say nothing less than a 20 gallon tank for a adult. Thats just the beginning of the info that we have come up with.
anyone here have any experece with these tree frogs? We would like to hear from anyone that has hands on experence with these.. Is there a good book out there on the white's? We have a tall 20 that we can house one or two adults. Is there someone that sells adults that is good to do business with?
Any pointers, tips would sure be welcome. Thanking you in advance..

Do a search for Malhavoc's in not so spinless wander forum, I have a male and female that are now under my care and doing splended thanks to some help from people here

They can be kept in colonies and I suggest so they seem more happy
Dust a cricket everyday for them [working for me]
Spray them once a day and I mean THEM
Make sure you've got a large water dish somewhere inside the tank for them to bask in and make sure its clean water [probably every other day or so dump it into the substrate and refill with water.
other then that prepare for dirty glass depening on what substrate you use and enjoy their croking... Mine liek to croak to certain music and tv, They especcialy like evanscene and chevelle[spelling]

I have an adult male (witness my avatar) "blue" phase White's tree frog. he is smaller than an adult female, I keep him in a large kritter keeper. he has a plastic water bowl that instead of cleaning I discard and replace with a new bowl when it is soiled. I use bottled water in the water dish (NEVER use distilled water for ANY amphib.). very hardy frog that is kept at normal room temps. they are prone to obesity so watch the food intake.

I used to have two

that I kept in a twenty gallon extraHigh tank.
I kept a shallow (tupperware) waterdish in the bottom that they would soak in every night, during the day they were always in an upper corner behind the fake plants I decorated with. I bought the fake kind of plants that are used for fish set ups that actually hang down from the top back edge of the tank. Plus, I put in two branches at a diagonal from bottom corner to opposite top corner.
I used peatmoss as a substrate.
I had to change the water every day because that is where they would defecate.
Very tame and would eat waxworms from my fingers. They were probably too fat, but they were awesome.

Thanks for the info. Just last night I came across a site that stated that should be fed pinkies about every 4 or 5 days.. Its so much better to ask people that have or had them for information.

oh just to add, make sure you feed the crickets with some gut load and dust them with cuttlefish bone they are prone to lack of calcium when young,if they dont recieve enough they will develop soft bones in the jaw and scull, and cant feed :)

one more thing also..

I used to keep a heating pad along the side of my tank-I figured humid Florida versus where I live in Michigan, and that is the glass side of the tank they could be found on most often.
