Hands down Psytalla horrida. Their size and appearance makes them so much more impressive looking to me. Their spines and colors. I love the combination of black and red.
I have a thriving colony of them.

I'm a bit biased since I've only kept whitespots but I think they have nicer coloration. I love the way all the white spots pop out from the dark background when you have a group of adults huddled on a piece of bark. The larger size and spines on horrida are cool too though. They also get points for having a cooler name.

Their behavior and care are extremely similar, so I would just go with whatever species you think looks better. The price difference is all supply and demand, if P. horrida had been in the hobby longer and whitespots were just introduced the latter would be the expensive ones.

In Europe, the price difference is not even that big. I sell horrida nymphs for €3 each. Are they expensive in the US?

For white spots it's around $10 to $15 and $20 to $25 for horrid kings just depends.

Horrida. They're absolutely stunning as adults. Their spines make them so different and the fact they're black and red also adds to how impressive they look.

Damn i miss not having them.

Some on eBay, and Virginia Cheesman has some. Plus red spots and orange spots - Mumbo.

Selling non feeder insects on eBay is against policy btw. If you can grab some off a user here I would recommend that. Otherwise Solaxis Reptiles is where I got mine. Tarantula Haven even did an unboxing from them. Simon is a solid seller. Not trying to plug it, remove if need be.

I have only kept white spots but I like red spots also. They are about the same price so it’s just about colors.

Aye. Had a really weird time with mine. Lost loads. And then at the end I ended up with 2 one of which refused to have a final moult. And he/she was old. My other had been an adult for ages and ages. Very odd.

But they're pretty much known to be bullet proof so definitely don't be put off. I haven't and will have them again at some point.

I've never kept white spots but have a colony of P. horrida. As far as I'm concerned you just can't do any better than that. Large, colorful, and just plain awesome looking. Easy to keep also, in fact so easy that I don't allow the eggs to hatch otherwise I'd be overrun by them. Super predators, great fun to watch them hunt.
