Aww! It's so cute!! I'm still waiting for my banana slugs to hatch. The eggs don't look so good so I might have to try a different substrate or something for the next batch if they don't work out. What do you hatch your eggs on? Do you cover them with moss?

i use pot soil and mossy mixed as substrate, they lay anywhere on the substrate, and just let the eggs stay there.
last night i check it up again, wahoo..many many nymphs hatched, i guss at
least 30~40 head, and i took many pics, i will update soon...:D :D :D

Speaking of gastropods if you have a fish tank thats calm enough (freshwater) you can have an "apple snail" Pomacea sp. If you love watching a snail move about this is just the thing for you. I had one who got so large it was nearly the size of my fist.

something about watching aquatic snails is very calming... hrmmmm therpy snails?

:?

I always wondered if you could have a viv with live plants that snails or slugs won't eat. Or put copper wiring around plants that you don't want them on. It would probably get pretty messy though. I have to clean my bananna slug tank at least once a week and scrape the poops off the sides. They're eatin, poopin, slimin machines.

The "real" apple snail is the bomb and they really do get to the size of an apple.

As for you other question, yes you can have snails/slugs with live plants, you just have to offer some expendable ones or a more tasty treat/food availble and they will leave the plants alone.
