I am no expert here. Infact, I haven't owned any of those. However, they look a lot like Vinegaroons, a terrestrial animal which is able to spray vinegar smelling excretions. Search for them on the boards. Whipscorpions usually look more flat bodied and much much leggier, and are very much arboreal by comparison. Still, they're damn cute! :)

is the common name that important?
by whip scorpions, do u mean Amblypygids?
i see both of them with whips....

Uropygi are known as both whipscorpions and vinegaroons.

Amblypigids are known as tailless whipscorpions.

My bad then. I thought whipscorpion was primarily reserved for tailess whipscorpions, and that vinegaroons were not referred to as such.
