hi everyone i am getting the chance to get a new tree frog. and my two choices are an emerald peacock tree frog or a grey tree frog. after shipping they are the same amount of money. i have found neumorous amounts of care sheets on the grey tree frogs.so if i get one of those im set.but if i get the emerald tree frog i need some more information. so could anyone give me any good advice or a care sheet. i have already been to the one on pollywog and that didnt give me a whole lot so any others would be appreciated.

If your are new to tree frogs go with the grey. They are more forgiving of beginner's mistakes.

Given that frogs and salamanders generally live 7 - 10 years, you and only you can attest to your level of expertise, if you have had good luck with your husbandry go for the more difficult species but I still advise going for the grey.

Your welcome but remember it is just my opinion based on my values.
To be honest I have kept many easy to keep species for years and presently have a Buffo Woodhousei, raised from the egg, that is 12 years 6 months 10 days old since hatching, and there is no way I would try keeping a Leptopelis vermiculatus (Peacock Tree Frog) given my lack of knowledge and experience with the species.
I also stay away from PDFs for the same reason. I hate it when my own incompetence kills an innocent animal.

I would go with the grey...easy, inexpensive, and a great feeding response. These guys are fun to watch.

I'd get the peacock. As long as you can give it a big enough cage and keep the temps/humidity right, it should be fine.
I had once a few yrs ago, very cool frog who would sing to me at night.

Oh and dart frogs really aren't hard to care for once you get a proper cage set up, especially if you start with a hardier species:)

there really isnt any frog that is hard to care for as long a you do everything right from the getgo you could keep any frog its just a matter of do i have what it needs is this really what i want and can i make this commitment. for instance vietnamise mossy frogs are a begginer level species but everyone seems to be against first timers keeping them yet many professional breeders do. and their care is very simple its just that people over estimate they delicasey they are actually a very hardy and robust species.
