I live in manhattan and it seems that the petstores ask to much for designer leopard geckos. Anyone know a good place to buy leo's?

That's a great price for a nice gecko, but i'd be weary of buying from someone with no references and only 1 post here on the boards. Plus, there are no advertisements allowed on this part of the forum. Not to mentions $15 is really cheap for shipping, so it doesn't sound too "legal" or safe.

Do a search for some local classifieds, or check out some reptile forums with classifieds, there are alot of great dealers out there that could ship one to you.

Try contacting the Kansas City Herpetological Society. I imagine someone there can hook you up with a decent breeder.

Heres their website- if you can get through the popups since they are using a free hosting site.
Kansas City Herpetological Society

I see their fall expo is coming up soon, you could probly find a deal there.

Not to be confused with the Kansas Herpetological Society

The Kansas Herpetological Society is a non-profit organization established in 1974 and designed to encourage education and dissemination of scientific information through the facilities of the Society; to encourage conservation of wildlife in general and of the herpetofauna of Kansas in particular; and to achieve closer cooperation and understanding between herpetologists, so that they may work together in common cause. The KHS is not a herpetocultural organization, but encourages individuals to keep and maintain native Kansas herpetofauna for educational purposes.

Hmmm I don't know how convenient it would be, but Exotic Pets in Andover usually carries a buttload of leos. The people there are friendly and most of them work with animals and/or study zoology away from the job. A lot of college students who really care about what they're doing.
