Ok, I live in TN and I was wondering if there was a certain place that praying mantis's are more prone to be? I don't see many at all and I really want one but don't want to buy one ( CHEAP ). I live on a golf course so there are some wooded areas around me. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Trey

Trey -

I live in TN, outside of Knoxville. Fall is a great time to catch preying mantis, especially on a warm afternoon. I have seen them on a butterfly bush and other shrubs around the house. Also, if there are unmowed fields - like overgrown pastures near you, you are likely to find a couple. With some luck, you may find an egg case as well, which are deposited in the fall and overwinter till spring. Feel free to Email me if you want to talk more.
