Hi, I have had centipedes before, but I've only caught them from outside. Now I want to buy a centipede, but I don't know what centipede breeds are some of the best options. Thanks, as this is my first time buying centipedes and not catching them.

It kinda depends on where you live but you can try buying some online. (You can try getting some millipedes, there kind of easier to keep.)

Chevk out online dealer reviews section of the website or go to an expo. We are not supposed to name businesses on this website

I am from Greece and I keep a big Scolopendra cingulata 15 cm, and well it is BORING.
It surfaces about two times a year to feed, and the rest of the time it seems to vanish into the unexplored depths of its fishbowl.
I know for a fact that it doesn't come up at night because it would leave prints on the fine sand i have laid all over its enclosure.
It always does (when it reappears ).
And for the wild ones in my area I find them oftentimes deep underground up to 50 centimeters deep.
But yeah, easy to keep you do almost nothing, just like the centipede.

Do you have any reptile expos around you? This way you can check out different species you may have interest in.

A lot of centipedes burrow and don't come out, it's just what they do. If you have the money, and could find them, I would recommend Scolopendra sp. white legs. When I had these they always were on display. They are also very calm centipedes for the most part. The one down side is that they are hard to find and expensive.

Unfortunately in Greece there exist only pet shops with birds, rodents and fish Arthropods are rare.
I could search in Germany, but I do not want to take something remotely dangerous on a train or ferry.
