i recently got a baby jumping spider. his names speck and he doesn’t move much while in his enclosure, but when i’m holding him he moves around a lot and over all enjoys being on my hand. like i said, he doesn’t move a lot inside his enclosure. he usually stays in one spot. close to the ground, instead of at the top which i find weird. he still hasn’t made his nest yet i haven’t seen any webbing. i saw him earlier on a white flower in his enclosure but now poof! he’s gone. i have no idea where he is. i don’t see him anywhere in his enclosure. there is a lot of hiding spots for him but i’m still worried, it’s never been this hard to find him. i’m pretty sure i’m over stressing. but my mind keeps assuming the worst.

I don't think that this is a question we can answer, but if there were no escape holes, than it either is still hiding, or died.
I've had spiders and harvestmen just vanish like that before.
But keep in mind that jumping spiders aren't messy with their webbing like other species.
The one I kept built a tiny little web case under some moss and even though there was nothing in the enclosure but moss it was very hard to find.
The "web" is usually barely bigger than the jumping spider.

Never mind! Literally not even 10 minutes after posting this, I found him! 🤣. I was over-stressing. I literally look up and see him sitting on a leaf. Guess he came out of his hiding place. Glad he’s not dead!

:rofl::lol::rofl::lol:
(I don't normally use emojis by the way.)

Yeah, that's about as long as it took for me to find my jumping spider's web casing.
I don't know if this helps, but jumpers are often highly diurnal and very inactive in darkness.
