Hi everyone, I am new to arachnopets. This is my first post. I am new to keeping T's, I have 14 T's, a mix of adults, juvs and slings. I have a large B. Albopilosum that I think could possibly be a female. I was thinking she might be a good breeding candidate for my first breeding project. I did extensive research before buying my first T making sure that this was something I wanted to do. I am very excited with this new hobby. I have always been interested in entamology. My question is when can you determine when a T is an adult? I would appreciate some help in this area. Thanks

Males are mature when they have their ultimate moult and get the modified pedipalps for copulation. Most species also get tibial apophyses as well.

Females are a less black and white issue but if they're around the maximum size for the species you can assume they are adults.

Like Code said males are easy. Females though are not so simple. They mature at less them full grown. You may not want to mate a female at her first mature molt but it is possible.

Well, the same way with humans, of course. Males are more obvious, especially with their new ways of looking at females. Another way to find out is do some stimulations see what happens.

You do reallize that I am talking garbage here...

In another thread (I believe it was you) you mentioned you'd caught some a. Iodious. How big do those females get because I've got one and I am curious.

Thanks.

I don't think they are A. iodious. That is what Jessie thinks but we will find out for sure soon. The ones in the pics are adults. I' not sure how big they get but I know the males are mature by 3.5-4".

PM me FelixA9.
